Panama prepares to go out and watch birds
For the seventh consecutive year, Panama joins the challenge. People from all over the world will go out this Saturday, May 8, 2021, united by a single passion: to watch birds and join the Great World Birdwatching Day, an activity better known as Global Big Day.
This world festival of birds had Panama as the host country in its first version in 2015. And this year the celebration is twofold. World Migratory Bird Day, according to the Convention on Migratory Species, is also celebrated on the same date. The commemoration of this date began in 2006 as an annual awareness campaign aimed at people living on the main migratory bird routes. This year's World Migratory Bird Day theme, "Sing, fly, fly, like a bird!" It is intended to highlight the ecological importance of migratory birds and motivate global conservation, through international cooperation.
